Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

Atlanta School of Massage – Final Report and Disclosure (12/31/2020)

In accordance with the Certification and Agreement for institutions applying for HEERF funds and to comply with Section 18004(e) of the CARES Act, Atlanta School of Massage’s initial report (the “30-day Fund Report”) is posting on July 17, 2020 the information listed below on the institution’s primary website – www.atlantaschoolofmassage.com. Accordingly, the following information has been easily made public and will be updated every 45 days thereafter in accordance with Section 18004(a)(1):

1. An acknowledgement that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Atlanta School of Massage (ASM) acknowledges it signed and returned to the U.S. Department of Education the Certification and Agreement on June 5, 2020, and gives the assurance that ASM intends to use 50% of the funds received under section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. 

2. The total amount of funds that the institution will receive or has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

The total amount of funds ASM has received from the U.S. Department of Education for distribution to students on August 6, 2020 is $149,204.00.

3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of the date of submission (i.e., as of the 30-day Report and every 45 days thereafter).

As of this 45-day Report, ASM has distributed $67,122.00 on 08/14/2020, $38,502.00 on 09/19/2020, and $43,580.00 on 11/02/2020 directly to students. All funds have been disbursed as of 11/02/2020.

4. The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

The estimated total number of students at ASM eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act are 299.

5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

As of the date of this 45-day Disclosure, the total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 302.

6. The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

The school will make THREE separate disbursements with the first being on August 14, 2020, then 30-45 days apart, to students who who are actively enrolled on or after March 13, 2020, or on an approved leave of absence on or after March 13, 2020, AND meeting the satisfactory academic progress as defined for each program at the time each disbursement is made, AND have completed the Institution’s Cares Act Application at each disbursement point. If a student withdraws or completes/graduates before the school disburses the funds they will not be eligible for the disbursement.

7. Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

All instructions, directions, or guidance provided by ASM to all students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants will be sent via email and is listed on the Students Application for this grant.
