Massage Kneads CEO, Janet Constantino, Shares Career Advice

Massage Kneads

What inspired you to pursue the path of chair massage in the workplace?

Chair massage piques the interest of many clients due to the advantage of mobility and flexibility. A local hospital was my first client and I found it to be very rewarding as the stress levels were so high such as when many clients were visiting a loved one or employees were working long shifts, etc. I still remember that those we worked on were so grateful. I was hooked!

Why would you recommend this niche to Atlanta School of Massage students?

Chair massage offers many options. Corporate wellness programs continue to gain strong interest as well. Offering this type of massage allows one to gain additional revenue while still allowing for a private practice for table clients. A win-win benefit for grads seeking extra work with a change of scenery!

What were some of your initial investments?

Very little investment to start up! My chair and associated business license/s along with standard costs of insurance and my state massage license.

Can you share about your success and how it has been financially supportive?

My business continues to grow with the support of awesome therapists and happy clients! I would never imagined that Massage Kneads would expand from my hometown to cities like Temple Terrace, FL spanning to Dallas, Texas! My massage business has offered me a creative outlet and an opportunity to support others in my profession along with exciting corporate clients. I (almost) do not consider it “work”! It has provided the flexibility and income to travel to foreign lands with my family!

What kind of marketing has proven beneficial for Massage Kneads?

Offering a great service is the best marketing! Many clients have various locations so we have enjoyed the excitement of corporate wellness in different locations, cities and states.

In 2001, I graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage and have never looked back on my mission to bring peace and harmony into a stressful, work-centered culture. In October 2006, I started my business, Massage Kneads, and have been enriched professionally ever since. My college business degree and my passion for massage was the perfect marriage to Massage Kneads! With 13+ years of medical sales behind me, I realized that in all offices, large and small, the “knead” for some relief within the corporate world.
